Post-Baby Bodies

This is a slightly, rambling post but there was an article that appeared in last week's Daily Mail which I really loved and wanted to share. More photos than words, it was about a project called 4th Trimester Bodies. This blurb is taken from the About Page on the website:

The  4th Trimester Bodies Project is an ongoing photo documentary created by photographer and mother Ashlee Wells Jackson. This project is dedicated to embracing the beauty inherent in the changes brought to our bodies by motherhood, childbirth and breastfeeding.

So many women worry about their post-baby body and whilst I understand it, to a certain extent, it also really frustrates me. All the changes to my body - saggier boobs, stretchmarks to the stomach and excess weight to name but a few - remind me that my body is actually pretty amazing. It helped to create a beautiful little girl, I carried her for those 9 months, before giving birth to her.

I'm not saying I don't get frustrated with my size (I'm a large plus size) or that I'm happy with how my body looks, far from it! I just think that sometimes perspective is needed. If you've just had a baby, losing your baby weight in a record amount of time shouldn't be your priority. Your baby should. Ignore the celebrities who seem to bounce back in to shape quickly, they have a completely different lifestyle, goals and priorities to you.

This pretty much sums up how I feel:
