A Sunny Sunday

I love this time of year when the skies are blue and the sun is shining. It's warm, but not too warm and just ideal for being out and about.

Because we knew the weather was meant to be good this weekend we'd made plans to take E out, we just hadn't decided where.

The plan was to go to Hunstanton, to take her on the beach but as soon as we hit the A149 we realised that was going to take too long to get to - as soon as the sun comes out, the road is chock-a-block (and it's even worse in the school holidays/summer). So we turned off for Sandringham, stopping off on the way for lunch. E was very grumpy eating lunch, with lots of whining (I think she has another tooth on the way through) and rubbing of her eyes and ears so I didn't hold out a lot of hope for the afternoon.

However after a dose of calpol, as soon as we got to Sandringham, it was a different story.  It was very busy with lots of families and dogs, we got her buggy out in case she wanted it and let her run wild.

Needless to say, she loved it!

Other than seeing her cousin once a week (who is the same age), E doesn't have a lot of contact with other children at the moment. She loved watching the children walking alongside us and was 'chattering' away to them.

She ran around with Daddy, throwing branches and cones around and stomping about in piles of leaves.  She took great interest in a big bush and found it hysterical when Daddy made it 'bite' and 'talk' to her.

We had hoped to take her in the play area but unfortunately, it was closed for refurbishment. As we'll definitely be going back, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it as what was visible on Sunday didn't look very impressive at all.
