A not so secret obsession

Growing up, I used to spend a lot of time at my grandparent's home. My parents divorced when I was very young and my Mum would work when she could so I had my own room at my grandparents.

I can't pinpoint the exact point it started but my Grandpa used to use Chapstick, usually the mint or original flavour. He used to keep it in his trouser pocket or on the chest of drawers in his bedroom and at some stage, he let me try it and after that, every now and then he would let me use it. I remember becoming quite taken with it and would sneak into his bedroom if I knew it was on the side and quickly slide some on to my lips. I loved the way it felt on and the smell of it.

Ever since then, you won't find me without a lip balm. Family and friends would always buy them for me and I've tried TONS - shops own brands, Carmex, Lypsyl, Chapstick, Burt's Bees.... the list goes on.

Now though, whilst I occasionally try a new one, there's only one brand I really use and that is The Body Shop. And if that's not specific enough, its the 'Born Lippy' pots that I favour. There's something about the texture and how it feels when I put it on my lips - not too slippery and not too sticky and heavy. And I'm really fussy over the scent, usually sticking to the same ones and always (ALWAYS!) avoiding the strawberry (I hate anything with strawberry or vanilla scent!).  I dread to think how much I have spent on them over the years but I always have several on the go at any one time - in my handbag, on the bedside cabinet, in the car and I always have one in my pocket. And even worse, I usually have a ton of them in my 'store cupboard', so to speak, as I take advantage of any special offers or vouchers. Now, if you don't think someone could have that many, have a look at this:

I know, I know. This looks extreme BUT I do like to make sure I have plenty available.... Just in case! Is it bad that I worry what I'll do if they ever stop making them?!

What's the one thing you stockpile?  Do share in the comments and reassure me I'm not the only one who does this!

(I should just add that this isn't a sponsored post, I really am mad enough to have brought all those lipbalms myself!).
