Wordy Wednesday

It seemed to take ages for E to start talking. I always said that one day she would suddenly just start and then there would be no stopping her. Whilst she didn't say much, it was as though she was concentrating on more important things (such as walking and doing puzzles and playing!) And now its begun! She's started to say more words and repeat things that we say to her. Every day she comes out with something new and I feel as proud as can be of her. Other times I'm not sure if I've heard correctly and spend ages trying to get her to say it again. It's lovely to hear her chattering away - I love listening to her talk to T and it really makes me smile. Here are some of my faves:
  • Queen / I'm the Queen - this came about after her and D were playing and she was sat bolt upright with a 'funny' look on her face. The evening she first started saying this, she was running around the kitchen shouting it, it was very funny.
  • Here you go.
  • Lie down - I tell her to lie down when she's in bed or when I want her to nap and she shouts it back at me.
  • See ya! We saw some friends in Tesco a few weeks ago and their daughter said 'see ya' to us and E immediately said it back. She usually says it in a sing-song voice.
  • Come on.
  • Come here please.
  • Have a good day.
  • Patter cake.

This week sees her going to nursery for her taster sessions (mummy in tow, to observe) before she starts full time next week. I think we'll be hearing lots of new words and sentences pretty quickly. I just hope she can make herself understood enough to begin with as I can (mostly) decipher what she's trying to say but often she still just babbles away.
