Pushing myself

In my day job, amongst some of what I do, I deal with the social media accounts but I'm the first to admit that there's only so much I know. Most of my knowledge has been gained through my personal accounts and there's only so much of that which can be applied to a business account, particularly with the business we are in. As our business continues to grow, its an area that I really need to work much harder on.

So with all that in mind, I volunteered to find myself a course and see what I could learn. I just happened to pop on to Groupon a few weeks ago and found a Social Media Marketing online Course with the Shaw Academy pop up and at a bargain price so I signed up.

The course is made up of 10 live webinars, some on demand webinars and assignments with successful completion leading to a diploma and I started it a couple of weeks ago.

The live webinars are 7-8pm of an evening and as this is the bedtime hour for us, I've had to listen the following day (where possible!). So far I've completed my first assignment and it was a huge relief to pass with 84% - I can live with that!

Because the course was on offer it was limited as to when I could take it with only two dates on offer. Really, with moving house, the timing could not have been worse. I'm already a bit behind (3 webinars!) - Yikes! But its all about pushing myself and in all honesty, with two little ones, there would never have been a good time to do it and I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it, I'd honestly forgotten how much I enjoy learning!

So, for anyone else feeling a little overwhelmed, here's a penguin.
