Things I love about this time of year

Don't get me wrong, I like to see the sunshine and feel a little heat on my arms, but Summer isn't for me. I get too hot, clammy and lack energy (more so than usual!). Spring and Autumn are for me, I love to see the change in the season.

Of course, I'll be grumbling about the change in temperature and feeling chilly, but I genuinely enjoy the cooler weather, and needing to wrap up a little more. Some of the other things I love about this time of year:

  • The nights drawing in earlier.
  • Snuggling up inside when its cold outside.
  • Warming homemade soups
  • Seeing mushrooms pop up - more so at my inlaws, their garden and driveway used to get big clumps pop up all over the place.
  • Dressing the girls up in chunkier knits.
  • Watching the farmers working in the fields.  My inlaws home has several fields near them and so we would often see the tractors driving through the village and working on the fields.
  • Leaves falling off the trees.
  • Long walks, wrapped up warm and followed by a warm drink and cake.

autumn, mushrooms, wild mushrooms
