#Blogtober16 Day 3 - if you won the lottery you would

I know I'm not the only person to daydream about what I would do if I won the lottery.  For me, its usually when I'm having a long day in the office - or when I have just checked my bank statement!  So, in no particular order, here's what I would do if I won the lottery - you will see that I'm thinking in terms of winning the big, big money. That said, if it were to be a smaller amount I'm sure that I would be just as happy - even if it were just a couple of drinks and a bar of choccy that I could stretch to!

1 - I love where I live and have no intention of moving so once we had paid off our mortgage I would buy the properties on either side of our house.  I would knock down our garage and build a new, much larger one with a workshop area for D and a large storage area for all those things we keep and don't use.

2 - Our house is somewhat of a strange lay out inside due to the extensions made over the years so we would put it into some sort of order. I would also extend the conservatory and build on top and to the side of the house, changing the size of the bedrooms and bathrooms.  And after all that, I'd decorate, no expense spared!

3 - With the extra land for a garden I would have someone come in to design and maintain it for me. I love the classic country gardens but wouldn't really have a clue how to put it together.

4-  Talking of garden, I'd get a large log cabin for the girls to use as a den and I would have another outbuilding with a swimming pool and gym for all of us to use. As well as the gym, I'd get myself a personal trainer to whip me into shape.

5 - I'm a natural worrier and it would worry me having such a huge amount of money to my name so I would make sure that some was put into accounts for the girls to access at different stages in their life.

6 - I would like to help some close family and friends in some way. Either paying off in full or drastically reducing their mortgage, buying them new cars or in some other way. And for a few other select friends I would set up funds for their children.

7 - We have a couple of parks which are poorly maintained in the town with limited and dated equipment.  I would donate 3 or 4 parks, or park equipment, to the town with different ages catered for.

8 - We would take more holidays. Even if it were just a few long weekends here and there, in the UK, it would be nice to get away and not worry about cost.

As you can see, most of mine relate to our home and I'm sure that if I really sat down and thought about it I could add quite a lot more but for now, that's everything!  What would you do?

  1. It sounds like you have some great plans for a lottery win...That's a great idea to buy the properties on either side...It's so thoughtful of you to think of donating to the parks :D x
