#blogtober16 day 7 - What made you start blogging

I first started this blog back in 2013 (Hello World!) but before that, I used to have a craft blog. I had shops on Etsy and Folksy and would share what I was making, the process and what I was selling. I even had a little series where I would interview other makers and share their shops and work.  When I first found out I was pregnant with E, we were in the process of converting an old garage into a studio for me to work in - can you believe at 4 months pregnant, I was balancing on scaffolding helping D to put up new ceilings?  As it turns out, babies and studios and sewing aren't that compatible, well at least not for me. Since moving, my craft stuff is still packed away, although I will be having a new workspace at some point and I'm very much looking forward to it!

(Excuse the poor photos!)

Anyway, I digress. Once I had E, my original blog fell by the wayside somewhat. I wanted to talk baby and felt it wasn't an appropriate space to do it there and so I set up this blog.  I love having my own space to witter away, even if I don't do it all that often.  I had hoped to share more but knowing that family and close friends may be reading does inhibit me somewhat.  And sometimes I do get an overwhelming feeling of 'oh my god, perhaps I should delete the whole thing rather than letting people read about me and the family'.  But ultimately, whatever I do share is for my girls and that's why I blog, so they can read whatever ramblings I've shared.  I've been lucky enough to review some nice items and receive some paid work through blogging, which is also a big bonus.  Of course, it would be nice if I could do more through it but I don't think I'll ever be in that position, I find it hard enough juggling things as it is, let alone putting in the effort that would require! For now, though, I'm happy enough just plodding away as I am.
