100 Truths Blogger Tag

The lovely Laura over at Dot Makes 4 has tagged me in the '100 Truths Blogger Tag' (thank you!) - here goes!

The Basics

1) What's your name?   Kate.

2) Any nicknames or aliases?   Numerous daft ones made up by my husband and kids.

3) Your gender?   Female

4) Your star sign?   Aquarius

5) How old are you?   35

6) Your relationship status?   Married

7) Any children?   Two.

8) Any pets?   Two cats at home. At my in-laws, where we used to live, we keep our 3 sheep, 2 goats, chickens and geese.

9) Any tattoos or piercings?   Two tattoos and pierced ears. I used to have my stomach, nose and tongue pierced too.

10) What do you like about yourself?   Gah, this is possibly the worst question to ask me.  Let me think about it....

11) What do you dislike about yourself?   Lots and lots.

12) Righty or lefty?   Righty.

13) The last thing you drank?   Diet coke.

14) The last thing you ate?   Sweet and salty popcorn.

15) Your last phone call?
My husband.

16) Your last text message?   The Doctors. (I know? All the excitement.)

17) Your last email?   eBay

18) The last song you listened to?   Hey Duggee's Stick Song - before you judge me, the kids wanted to listen to it!

19) The last book you read?   The Teacher by Katerina Diamond.

20) The last time you cried?   Friday.

21) The last blog you read?   Dot Makes 4

22) The last person you spoke to?  My husband.

23) The last place you visited?   Ermmm...

24) Your last holiday abroad?   It was in France, several years ago, 2006 or possibly 2007.

Have you ever?

25)  Have you ever gotten back with an ex?   No.  There's a reason why we are ex's.

26) Have you ever been cheated on?   Yes.

27) Have you ever cheated on someone?   No.

28) Have you ever lost someone special to you?   Yes, my godmother. It was over 10 years ago and I still think about her often. I wonder what she would have thought of my girls, what they would have thought of her and what she would have made of me as a mother.

29) Have you ever been so drunk you threw up?   Numerous times. Luckily I now know my limit (which isn't a lot to be honest!) so it hasn't happened for a very long time.

30) Have you ever fallen out of love with someone?   Yes.

31) Have you ever met someone who changed you?   Yes.  D.  I think my life would have followed a completely different path if we hadn't stayed together. He helped to stablise me, before him I was out drinking frequently and would always be short of money.

32) Have you ever been in a situation where you found out who your real friends are?   Yes and as a result I keep my circle of friends small.

33) Have you ever kissed someone you probably shouldn't have?   No.

34) Have you ever found out people were talking about you behind your back?   Yes, many times. The most recent was the most irritating as they were completely incorrect about a situation that had arisen and there wasn't much that I could say or do about it without causing a problem. Sometimes its easier to hold the tongue and know that you know the truth and that's that.

35) Have you ever broken someone's heart?   Not that I know of.

36) Have you ever kissed a stranger?   Yes.

37) Have you ever had your heart broken?   Yes.

38) Have you ever had sex on the first date?   Yes.

39) Have you ever been arrested?   No.

40) Have you ever been attracted to someone that isn't the gender you usually find attractive?   No but I think too much emphasis is put on labelling sexuality. If you fall for someone and they happen to be the same sex as you, why should that be a big deal?

41) Have you ever done something you regret?   Yes. Too many to list!

42) Have you ever had a threesome?   No.

43) Have you ever embarrassed yourself in public?   Too many times to count. I'm the kind of person that trips over my own feet.

44) Have you ever misjudged someone?   No. I trust my gut instinct and I've learnt to listen to it.

Your beliefs and opinions

45) Do you believe in God?   The subject of religion is a tricky one. I was raised as a christian, going to church and Sunday school. I believe in something but what that something is, I'm not entirely sure. I wish I had a stronger belief.  Different religions have always fascinated me, when I was at school it was what I wanted to do for A-levels, but I had no idea what career path it could take me down and so I avoided it.

46) Do you believe in yourself?   I'm working on it.

47) Do you believe in Santa Claus?   After seeing my shopping bill for the last few Christmases, I'm going to say no!

48) Do you believe in ghosts?   Yes. Whether its ghosts or energy, I think there is something. When I first started dating D he lived with his parents in an old (several hundred years) house and I had several experiences there. My mirror went missing, his radio would switch itself on at full blast when everyone else was downstairs, I would hear movement in the house when no one else was in.  There were a couple of occasions I woke during the night thinking someone was watching us and I would smell the strong scent of roses. Over the years, it stopped. It sounds silly, I know, but I like to think that whatever it was, was just letting me know they were there.

49) Do you believe in aliens?   I think it would be very foolish to believe we were the only ones in this universe, with all the discoveries that are made.

50) Do you believe in miracles?   Yes.

51) Do you believe in the power of positive thinking?   Yes, although I'm still trying to train myself to do it.

52) Do you believe in love at first sight?   No. I think there's an attraction but that love is something that comes after.

53) Can money make you happy?  If someone could give me a million pounds, I'll let you know.

54) Would you describe yourself as a feminist?   Yes.

55) Are you pro-life or pro-choice?   Pro choice.

56) Do you have strong political beliefs?   No.

57) Do you have strong religious beliefs?   No.

58) What do you think the most important thing you can give a child is?   I think there's several things, the most important of which is love. A child needs to be shown affection, to know that they are loved no matter what they do. I hope above all that my girls remember me giving them lots of kisses and cuddles.

Right now

59) Are you eating anything right now?   No.

60) Are you drinking anything right now?   Diet Coke.

61) What are you listening to right now?   D's watching something about the war so that, as well as the girls both coughing away.

62) What are you thinking about right now?   Whether the girls are going to sleep through tonight or if I'm going to be up several times again.

63) What are you waiting for right now?   The rain to stop.  Its SO heavy out there.

64) What are you most excited about right now?   I picked up a new, small cupboard for £5 in the charity shop this weekend and I'm looking forward to getting it painted up.

65) What's your pet hate right now?   At this very moment? My 5 year old's attitude. Its awful.

66) What's your favourite thing right now?   Sleep, mostly because I'm not getting anywhere near enough!

67) If you weren't answering these questions, what would you be doing right now?   Playing on my phone.

68) Your best friend?   I can't remember, isn't that awful?!

69) Your first kiss?   A boy in a club.

70) Your first celebrity crush?   Mark Owen. Paul Nicholls too.

71) Your first holiday?   My grandparents took me to France but I can't remember much of it.

72) Your first pet?   Cindy. She was a black labrador and died when she was a puppy because my Mum's ex-husband didn't get her the correct injections.

73) Your first regret?   I have lots. Not finishing college or doing an apprenticeship being the biggest.

74) Your first job?   I had a part time job in a local shop.

75) Your first childhood memory?   My Mum and Dad arguing over something whilst one of them was trying to feed me a spoonful of peas. They split when I was a toddler so I have no idea how old I was.

Which would you choose

76) Love or money?   Love.

77) Twitter or Facebook?   Twitter.

78) Hook up or relationship?   Relationship.

79) Dogs or cats?   If I could have a big Maine Coone or Rag Doll, cats.

80) Coffee or tea?   Coffee.

81) Beer or wine?   Wine.

82) Sweet or savoury?   I'm more of a savoury girl these days.

83) Introvert or extrovert?   Introvert.

84) Vampires or werewolves?   Pfftt.... vampires.  I really have't got the whole vampire/werewolves fascination.

85) Seaside or countryside?   Seaside.

86) Summer or winter?   Winter.  I love the sunshine that comes with summer, I just dislike the heat!

87) Books or movies?   Books.

88) Horror or comedy?   Comedy.

A few random questions to finish on

89) Do you wish you could change your past?   Yes. I wish I had completed college or an apprenticeship. I wish I had known earlier what it was I wanted to do with my life and worked towards it.

90) What's your dream job?   I would love to have a little studio space to have room to paint furniture and somewhere to work on my sewing machine. Being paid to have fun with both would be perfect.

91) What's your guilty pleasure?   Sitting down with a colouring book. I know some people think its a bit sad but I find it therapeutic!

92) What are you afraid of?   Something happening to my family.  Spiders!

93) What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?   One of the first things I remember wanting to be was a teacher or a hairdresser.

94) If you could have any superpower, what would it be?   Oh, there's so many super powers I'd like but off the top of my head, being able to get anywhere with the click of a finger would be perfect.

95) If you could change anything about your life, what would it be?   Family. The set up, those that I don't see. Those that I want nothing to do with. Those that I wish I was closer to and saw more of.

96) Would you want immortality?   No. The body starts to fail and family and friends would no longer be around and without them, what would be the point?

97) If you could interview anyone alive or dead, who would you choose?    Family members that I never had the chance to meet.

98) Would you say you are happy?   There are lots of things in my life that are far from perfect - indeed, I am far from perfect, but its my life and yes, on the whole I am happy.

99) What one piece of advice would you give to yourself at age eighteen?   Less socialising, more saving. Work hard and focus on what you want. Everything you think is important now is far from it.

100) Where would you like to be in five years' time?  Pretty much the same place as I am now, except slimmer would be nice. I'd like to have more time for creativity and to be making a little more money from it too.

Phew. Did you make it to the end?  I'm leaving this open to anyone that wants to join in. Drop a comment below, I'd love to read your answers.
