If you are looking for the perfect family vacation this summer, Costa Rica is the place you should check out. Only a short flight away, it offers ecotourism, great quality hotels, pristine beaches, and a chance to get close to nature. Whether you are looking for unforgettable adventures or would like to enjoy some beach time, you can find something for everyone in Costa Rica. Find a list of things you should consider when booking your next family vacation.

1 - Jungle Tours

Teaching your kids about rainforests and ecosystems in the city is hard. If you visit Costa Rica, it is a good idea to join one of the jungle tours designed for younger audiences. Allow them to discover their favorite animals, get close to nature, and learn as much as they can about the vulnerable ecosystem of Central America while having fun.

2 - Zip Wires

Active kids will enjoy the canopy zip wire tours in Costa Rica, and the thrill that comes with it. You can get a new perspective of the rainforest and create memories for a lifetime. All the tours are insured and safety equipment are provided, as well as training, so you have nothing to worry about. Whether you would like to see one of the volcanoes from above, or meet endangered species living in the canopy, a zip wire tour is a great choice.

3 - Beaches

Costa Rica is also famous for its beaches. If you are looking for a family beach holiday, you can find plenty of hotels and resorts that will fit your budget and needs near one of the beaches. Tamarindo is one of the most popular Costa Rica beaches among surfers and watersport lovers. If you would like to be close to nature, you can also book a resort near Manuel Antonio National Park.

4 - Animal Sanctuaries

From sloths to toucans, you can find plenty of interesting and breathtaking animals in Costa Rica. If you book a hotel in the capital, such as Courtyard San Jose Escazu,  you will find plenty of tours offered by your hotel to visit these places. Visit the Sloth Institute or the Jaguar Rescue Center in Playa Cocles. Talk to your tour operator before you decide, and book your day trips ahead, as the number of visitors allowed to these sanctuaries a day is limited.

5 - Water Rafting

For a fun-filled day out, you can also try white water rafting. There are different difficulty routes available, to suit everyone’s needs and abilities. Lined with stunning rivers, such as the Rio Toro, Corobici, and Reventazon, there is a new experience awaiting for you to catch a glimpse of colorful frogs, sloths, and monkeys when you stop.

Visiting Costa Rica with a family is a great choice. From pristine beaches to dozens of animal sanctuaries and great child-friendly tours, the country offers so much more than your standard beach vacation resorts. Fill your holiday with adventure and create memories for many years to come when you visit Costa Rica.
