Getting to Know you tag and Q&A

The lovely Becca from My Girls and Me has tagged me to take part in the Getting to know you tag. I quite enjoy a tag post, so here we go!

When was the last time you cried?  Last week, in the playground whilst waiting for E to go into school.  It was one of those mornings, not helped by hormones and my friend asking me if I was OK!

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?  Gosh, this is a hard one.  I'm really not sure.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?   All. The. Time.  I do try to reign it in a little as I'm not sure everyone gets it!

What's the first thing you notice about people?  Their hair.

Scary movie or happy endings?  Happy endings.

Favourite smells?   Freshly washed laundry and my children's hair when its just been washed.

What's the furthest you've ever been from home?   Greece.

Do you have any special talents?   None, unfortunately!

Where were you born?   Swindon, in a hospital that has long since been demolished.

What are your hobbies?   I have a few things I love to do - painting furniture (anything!) with chalk paint, sewing, gardening and reading.

What did you want to be when you grew up?   A hairdresser or a teacher.

How many countries have you been to?   Four - Greece, Amsterdam, Spain and France.

What was your favourite/worst subject in school?   I loved our RE lessons. Most of the other kids in my class hated it but I loved looking at other religions and had really wanted to take it at A-level.  I didn't, I can't remember why!  A close second would have been English.  My worst subject, hands down, was maths. I was terrible at it (I failed my exam!) and I hated it with a passion. I still do and it fills me with fear each time E tells me she has maths homework to do.

What is your favourite drink?   Coffee.

What would you (or have you) named your children?   As you have probably noticed, I don't share my girl's names online but both T's first and middle names are names I loved and chose.  If D had let me have my own way with E, she would have been called Matilda. I loved the name then and still love it now.  Other names that were on my list were Ada, Elsie, Hattie, Beatrice, Adelaide, Mabel, Poppy and Rosie.

Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?   I don't watch many because I tend to get suckered in and I waste enough time as it is, but if I catch any its usually Brummy Mummy.

How many boyfriends have you had?   Less than 5.

Favourite memory from childhood?

How would you describe your fashion sense?  Is non-existent a description?! Its terrible, I pretty much live in my jeans because I never know what suits me and when I do wear something different I feel so self conscious and awkward its unreal. I'd love to be someone that wore skirts and dresses but I'm not sure that will ever be me again.

Tell us one of your bad habits?   Just one? I have so many!  My biggest bad habit is probably the fact that I'm rubbish at keeping in touch with people and replying to messages. If I don't do it there and then, I'm likely to forget to to do it for ages.

So there we have it. I'm now tagging:

Kids, Cuddles and Muddy Puddles

  3. This is nice insight to a blog that I visit frequently. I don't know why, but I was a bit surprised when I read that you've only been to 4 countries! I must have just assumed everyone is so well travelled now, really shows that I shouldn't put assumptions like this on people! Thanks for sharing #TwinklyTuesday

  5. Love coffee too and I must say my number of boyfriends was on the low count as well. I wasn't really into boys until I was about 20 #twinklytuesday
