2018 Mini Goal : Reading update - How Am I getting on?

At the start of the year, I set myself some mini goals, one of which was to read more. I set myself a goal of 12 books, 1 per month. I set myself the same goal last year and managed 9. So how am I getting on this year?

The books I've read so far this year:

The Ice Twins - S.K. Tremayne

Dead Gone - Luca Veste

Death Message - Kate London

Look Behind You - Sibel Hodge

The Husband's Secret - Liane Moriarty

The Teacher - Katerina Diamond

The Stolen Ones - Richard Montanari

In all honesty, out of all these there were only two that I really enjoyed which were Look Behind You and The Husband's Secret. The others I struggled to get into and didn't really grip me.

I've been making more time to read, trying to snatch 10 minutes here and there. When T was at nursery, I would keep a book in the car, on the odd chance that she would want to do some colouring whilst we waited to collect E.  As she starts school this year, I shall have some extra time before collecting them both. The plan, at the moment, is to still get to the school so I can get parked up easily and then make the most of the quiet time and get stuck into a book.

7 down, 5 to go! I'm pretty pleased with this.

Have you read any good books this year? Any recommendations you would like to share?

  1. I read just before I go to sleep, a good book is a problem as it keeps me up far too late! Citizen by Charles Brooks is my most recent must read, it surprised me. I've not read any from your list here but will look out for the 2 you rate. #TwinklyTuesday

  2. As soon as I saw Dead Gone on there I wondered how you got on, it didn't get me either. I find it really hard grabbing a moment to read so it has to be good. #TwinklyTuesday

  3. That is an impressive list. My last book was by Francine Rivers and it was Redeeming Love. So good! #twinklytuesday

  4. Your doing well. I use to read a lot, I love Agatha Christie books but since returing to uni my brain can not handle anymore reading once I get home! #TwinklyTuesday

  5. Well done it can be as parents be hard to find the time to read it so worth it. I really like the husband secret and couldn't but it down X #twinklytuesday

  6. I love reading and there are certain authors' books I enjoy. Some books grab you from the start and then you are hooked others I tend to struggle with too. Happy reading #twinklytuesday

  7. I keep a book in the car now too, I'm getting through so much more reading than before! #twinklytuesday

  8. I need to make more goals like this! I'm still tyring to find time to read a book I got for Christmas last year...It's September and I'm only half way through!! Terrible effort!
