Gratitude Journal #4
Monday, 29 October 2018
Its the end of another week and time to look back at what I'm grateful for.
Mum
Like any mother and daughter we don't always see eye to eye but I'm grateful for her and it was really nice to have her down for a few days during the half term. The girls loved seeing her and she looked after them for a few days on my workday.
Slower Days
The best thing about the half term? Easily the slower mornings and not having to get up early! That and not having to do the lunchboxes!
Long Cold Walks
Over the weekend we wrapped up in our thick coats, the girls donned their hats and gloves and went for a 2ish mile walk. I didn't think the girls would walk that far in all honesty but they surprised me! There wasn't too much in the way of complaining, although E did keep asking if it was lunchtime yet - it was! We went to three different parks on the route and made it back just before the rain hit. The plan to wear them all out worked, E sat writing in the afternoon, Buddy slept and T curled up with a blanket on the sofa.
Fish and Chips
Over the weekend my inlaws came over to collect E's recipe book. She was desperate to share the Halloween recipes with her. In the end, they stayed for dinner and we ordered fish and chips so that no one had to cook. It's always lovely to have a night off the cooking!
Buddy
I kind of feel like I'm jinxing things by writing it down but I think Buddy is finally getting the message with toilet training. This week, we've gone from having accidents 2-3 times a day to having maybe 3 this week. He's an absolute love but I'm so grateful for this!

ReplyDeleteToilet training a dog is so stressful I know so well done you and hoping soon no accidents. Love how real you are about your Mum too. Mums don't have to be perfect to be super special. You have made me crave fish and chips too! #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteI love a slower pace and the cooler autumn walks X #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have your Mum come down and help with the girls, a treat all round, once I went over 2 kids that offer was withdrawn! Long walks in the chilly winter air are gorgeous, especially coming back in tired and warming up. #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteYey for Buddy!! It sounds like you have had a lovely week, fish and chips sound good and that walk is my idea of perfect #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the change in temperature. We've had an absolutely amazing year weather wise but I've been looking forward to 'big coat' and woollies weather!! #TwinklyTuesday
ReplyDeleteYou had a good week and so much to be grateful for. The older I get the more I appreciate my parents, especially my mom. I didn't have fish and chips in a while - it's always a winner
