Gratitude Journal #5

Its the start of another week (Hello Monday!) and that means its also time for a look back at what I'm grateful for this week:

Bathtime for Buddy
I've come to a little agreement with my sister in law that I'll help her out with her social media for her dog grooming business and in return, she'll give Buddy a wash for me.  This week he had his first wash and came out all glossy and smelling lovely!

Halloween Tea
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't take my children trick or treating. This year, my inlaws did a tea party for them and my niece with mummy sausage rolls, a spider/Jack O-lantern cake, witches fingers and lots more creepy things to nibble on.  The girls absolutely loved it and its got me thinking that I might try to do something myself at home next year for them and a few friends.

Another hospital appointment and still no further with my ongoing abdominal pain. This has been going on for three years and whilst its incredibly frustrating, I'm grateful to the NHS for the numerous appointments I've had whilst they try to work out what the issue is.

Soft Play
T had a birthday party at soft play this weekend.  Its a 45 minute drive from ours and the party was at 10am so I'll be honest, it was hard getting us moving first thing!  D came along and paid for E to play and they both had a great time. It was nice having D there and for the girls to have something to wear them out rather than having a slow day at home.

  1. Sounds a lovely week. Sorry to hear that there are ongoing tests for your pain, hope it gets resolved soon X #twinklytuesday

  2. Lots of good here, but that abdominal pain is certainly a concern. Good that you are having it checked out--and that you are able to be grateful in the midst of it.

  3. I am sorry you are having health bumps. You seem to have the right idea to count your blessings! #twinklytuesday

  4. Soft play is great for burning off all the energy. Sorry to hear that you're no further along with your abdomen. Here's to a better week #TwinklyTuesday

  5. Like the idea of a clean and shiny Buddy - wish I had such a deal somewhere for my dog Buddy. Good luck on the health front and we do need to keep shouting about and protecting our NHS. Have you experimented with your diet or looked into IBS? Just a thought and I am sure you are doing all you can self-care wise. I am no fan of trick or treating and my children hate that their only experience of it was visiting Grandad with sweets on Halloween and this year giving sweets out in a very safe and quiet French village. #TwinklyTuesday

  6. What a wonderful list! I don't live in the UK, but I am grateful for our healthcare system too. It's easy to moan at the budget cuts, but it's more productive to be grateful for the care you do get. That being said, I'm sorry they still haven't sorted you out. #TwinklyTuesday

  7. I am grateful that #1 child finishes school today! Last exam this morning! YAY!! #TwinklyTuesday

  8. I'm with you on the no trick or treating, hate the idea myself, though now he's at school and as I found they make a whole thing out of it I don't know how much longer I'll be able to pull that off. I love how positive you are about your hospital appointments, that takes a lot to find the positive in that situation. #TwinklyTuesday

  9. We don't celebrate Halloween at all so you're not alone. I am grateful that we have the NHS too, they have been amazing in caring for me through PND and anxiety. #TwinklyTuesday

  10. Well it's refreshing to see that you are keeping your priorities in order and focusing on all the good things in your life - I wish I put in the same sort of effort. And a lovely idea to blog about! We should all take a leaf out of your book. P.S. I didn't bring my girls trick or treating either! #twinklytuesday

  11. I love your weekly gratitude journal - it's really a great way to document what you are grateful for #TwinklyTuesday
