The October Blog Tag

Lisa from Mumma Scribbles has kindly tagged me in The October Blog Tag and I've said before, I quite like a blog tag (even though I'm a few days late - whoops!)... so here goes!

Name - Katherine but everyone calls me Kate.  I like the name Katherine but from the moment I started school, there were two Catherines and me so we had to differentiate: Catherine, Cathy and Kate. Kate has stuck since then.

What is your favourite colour?  I'm always drawn to shades of blue.

What did you do today?  I've been awake on and off since 4.30am.  I dropped the kids off at school before heading up Tesco and filling the car up with fuel - I had a voucher to take advantage of.... as did most of the town from the looks of things as half of the pumps were empty! From there I headed to the hospital for coffee followed by an appointment with the oral surgeon to check out the lump on my jaw. I popped into see D at work before heading home, where I've been pottering around and catching up with a few outstanding jobs before the fun of school pick up!

Where are you currently?  At home, sat at the table. One cat is sat on the sofa near me and Buddy and the other cat are running riot around the living room.

What is your star sign?  Aquarius

Cake or Ice Cream   Cake.  Always cake

Frozen or Moana   We're yet to sit through Moana so I'll stick with Frozen.

A night in or a night out  Always a night in, I'm a real home bird.

Home cooked meal or takeaway   Home cooked meal.

Pineapple on pizza or no pineapple on pizza   No, no, no.

Books or films   Books. Its not often a film holds my attention.

Autumn or spring   I love both and would normally say Autumn but the sudden shock of cold had me yearning for spring this morning: the sunshine and colour starting to come back to the garden.

Flowers or chocolates  Chocolates.

Full fat or diet coke  Diet coke.

Phone or laptop  Phone.

What is your current favourite TV series?  We've just started watching The Walking Dead.  I know, I know, we're late to the party but I have a feeling we'll end up binge watching it, which is what usually happens when we're both enjoying a series! We're also one episode away from finishing The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, which I've loved.

What is your favourite thing to do in October?   Hibernate!

What is your current food to crave?  Cheese.

Do you have any piercings or tattoos?  I have my ears pierced. My nose has now closed up, although I'm sometimes tempted to get it re-pierced.  I also have two tattoos, both of which I now dislike but it doesn't stop me from wanting more!

Are you an introvert or extrovert?  Introvert. I find being around people quite exhausting at times and really do crave alone time.

What is your all time favourite Halloween film?  The only Halloween films I've watched are kid friendly! We watched Transylvania 2 at the weekend which we all enjoyed.

Name your top 3 favourite artists/bands   I've always loved Take That!

Have you got any plans for Halloween?  We had a little tea party at my in-laws, which the girls loved.

Do you have any fears?  So many that I daren't list them and let everyone see just how neurotic I am.  The biggest fear is losing my children or not being around to see them grow up.

Do you believe in life after love?  Yes. We all deserve to be happy.

Do you have any children? (or animals you treat as your babies)  I have two girls, 19 months apart. And the fur ball, Buddy.

What do you want for your future?  For my family to be happy and healthy

Be honest, why did you start blogging?  I genuinely can't remember when I started blogging but I started my craft blog back in 2008 or 2009. I deleted in a few years ago because I had started this one and didn't want the hassle of looking after two.

What is your biggest achievement so far?   Without a doubt my family.

What are your ambitions with your blog?   I don't have as much time as I would like to write and do more with the blog so for now I'm happy with it.  I would like to be more honest on it, there's so much that I would like to write about but don't because I'm worried about who will be reading it, e.g. family, and there are certain things I don't want them knowing.  I'm not entirely trusting  of some people and fear things being used or said against me once they're out in public.

If there is one thing you’d like to change about your blog what would it be?   I'd like to be able to create more content and write more!  Its always a work in progress, real life comes first.

Have you achieved any blog goals you set out to do this year?  I think my only real goal was to write more and so far, I've not done as a much as I would have liked.

Where do you want to be in 10 years’ time?  I'd like to think that we'll have got everything we want doing with the house, done and will be enjoying it.  I'd like to be spending more time being creative and earning from it.

What is your dream holiday?   There's so many places I would love to visit. South America, Mexico, the Wall of China, but in all honesty, any holiday would be lovely - we've not had a holiday for several years, I think our last was 2009.

If you had an entire day to yourself what would you do?   Sleep, followed by painting or getting the sewing machine and some of my fabric stash out.

Thanks for the tag Lisa!
