Gratitude Journal #11

T's School Christmas Show
This week was T's Christmas show and we were unsure as to whether she would take part. T is very loud, cheeky and boisterous with people she knows but it can take her a little while to warm up to people and she can be surprisingly shy.  Unfortunately she was too shy to take part in the Christmas show, despite having practiced the songs at home for weeks!  That said, she still got up and stood on the stage and stood with her group when it was their turn to sing and for that I was proud of her.  Its no easy task standing up in front of lots of people at any age, let alone at 4.

Seeing my sister
The biggest thing I am grateful for this week is finally seeing my sister and her Mum, my stepmum.  Whilst we talk every other day, we haven't seen each other for a long time. We live 3 hours away from each other and life has just got in the way, with illness and bereavement on their side of the family.  I thought it might feel a little awkward, as it can do when you haven't seen someone for ages, but it wasn't and made me realise just how much I've missed her.  Hopefully it won't be so long next time.

Finishing my Christmas Shopping
I get in to a real panic each year with Christmas shopping, either I feel I've not started soon enough or the presents I've chosen aren't good enough. This year I felt I'd left it quite late to start shopping (late November!) and I didn't have a clue what to get everyone. This week, I'm feeling quietly confident that I've got people things they'll love and I've not gone overboard with any of it.  Finger's crossed!

Tax Return
Finally! Paperwork sorted and sent to the Accountant and two days later, I had it all back to sign off.  Its never a big job but its something I get totally stressed over so now pay for it to be done for me.  Best thing I could have done! I'm very grateful not to have to worry about getting it all done.

Little Jobs
This week I've managed to get some little jobs done. Nothing major, just things that I keep putting off and really shouldn't have.  It feels good to have got them completed!
