Gratitude Journal #13

Thoughtful Gifts
This year I had some really thoughtful gifts for Christmas.  I collect Emma Bridgewater pottery and had some new pieces to add to my collection, including a teapot from the girls.

Alone Time
I've made a point of getting out and walking Buddy on my own so that I can have a breather from everyone. I feel like its been much needed and I've felt better for it.

Mum Visiting
Mum has been here for a couple of days, which the girls have absolutely loved.  One of the days, her and my Stepdad took the girls into town on the train and ended up being gone for a good chunk of the day. D and I used the time to clear out the conservatory which has been used as a storage room for the last year. If the girls had been here, it would have taken us a lot longer to do.

Wages
I have been very grateful for my wages this month as I had accrued a large amount of holiday pay that I hadn't taken, which more than doubled my usual monthly wage. This has meant I've been able to treat myself in the sales and top up my savings - particularly helpful as this year my savings took a hit with buying Buddy.

Sales
Oh I do LOVE the sales! I always have done. Every year, D and I have got up early and gone sales shopping on Boxing Day. Since we've had the girls, we've still continued our little tradition and make a point of stopping for coffee and cake with them.  This year, the sales gods have been shining down on me and I've brought loads, including lots of presents to put away for any parties the girls are invited to and another couple of pieces to add to my Emma Bridgewater collection!

What are you grateful for today?

  2. A fellow Emma Bridgewater addict here...my little (pre Christmas) treat was two personalised tiny mug decorations to match my others so I now have 'Stanley' 'James' '&' and 'Eli' hanging from my kitchen wall dresser. I'm grateful for my little family now being complete and I've never felt it more than at Christmas! #TwinklyTuesday

  3. Sales and holiday pay go together nicely don't they. I love sales too, I stopped by Walgreens on the way home today and everything I got was on sale, candy and scotch tape neither of which I really need were two for one. Yeeha.
