Gratitude Journal #17

Painting a Plate Rack
I picked up a plate rack in the charity shop a few weeks ago for the bargain price of £5 and this week I've finally finished painting it.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out and will be sending it through to the shop to sell this week with my fingers firmly crossed that it doesn't take too long to sell.

Hospital Care
Last week I had to go to A&E with chest pain. After 5 and a bit hours, blood tests, 2 ecgs and a chest x-ray, I was sent home with a diagnosis of gastritis.  The Dr thought it was referred pain from the never ending stomach saga and gave me something to help settle it. As I type this, its a few days on and the pain has finally gone, although there is still some discomfort there.  2 days after I attended, I received a letter from them to confirm my attendance which, disappointingly, showed they hadn't listened completely to what I had told them. Nonetheless, I'm grateful for the care I received.

Pantry
Our pantry is edging closer towards completion! The cupboards are in, as is the tumble dryer, microwave and small fridge.  We have a few things left to do - skirting board, hang the door, new light fitting, plumb the washing machine in - but its getting there.

BlanketsCrikey its been cold the last few days!  I'm normally quite a hot person and I would certainly rather be hot than cold but recently I've really been feeling the cold so I've been very grateful for being able to wrap up on the sofa with a blanket.

  5. Plate rack sounds satisfying, a trip to hospital less so, though I'm glad the pain is now gone. #TwinklyTuesday

  7. I hear ya about normally running hot and it's taken this ridiculous bitter cold to get me to put on pants and turn on the fireplace. I'm glad you're feeling better, stomach issues are not fun and can easily be confused with heart issues, one more complication. It continually surprises me how medical staff only seem to half listen to what you're saying. When someone actually does pay full attention I feel like hugging them.

  8. It's nice that you turned even a horrible painful situation in to a positive. I recently did that with my ongoing back issues. I realised that I have so many supportive friends and family. So the best way to look at a problem in your life is to flip it, see what you've learned and turn it in to a positive x #TwinklyTuesday

  9. Sorry to hear you are struggling with your health again. Roll on Spring when we can all start to feel a bit better! Love the idea of a pantry full of all those appliances...wish I had space for all that! Hope the plate rack makes you a profit! #TwinklyTuesday
