Gratitude Journal #24

E having fun on Saturday
We had a birthday party to go to on Saturday which was held in our local park. Not the best idea in the middle of March, it was cold and very windy. But the children all had a great time running around and playing. Afterwards, E went with my brother and sister in law for lunch and ended up going round theirs to play with my niece afterwards.  In the end, what I thought was going to be a couple of hours turned into double that. She had a fab time and it was nice for us to have some one on one time with T.

Lemon Drizzle Cake
Last week was all about the cake. MiL made a cake which everyone, except me, was enjoying. Then, I went into work and for two of the days there were cakes in and as I'm avoiding gluten, I was unable to eat any.  Like a spoilt child, I was more than a little put out! D came home over the weekend with a gluten free lemon drizzle cake that my MiL had made us and it is delicious!

New to Me Cupboard
My friend messaged me last week with a photo of a cupboard his parents were getting rid of, asking if I wanted it. Yes!  Its a lovely size and its going to fit into our spare room perfectly once its all painted up.

Birthday Organisation
This week is Ts birthday so last week we finally got the rest of her present ordered. I also ordered her birthday cake, actually I've had to order two to make sure there's enough for all the kids! Next weekend is her party so I'll be sorting out sweet bags this week, thanks to my MiL who has ordered and started organising that for me!  It seems amazing to me that my cheeky little T is going to be 5.

  5. I love organising my kids' birthday parties even though I do get a bit stressed at the time. Can I confess my favourite thing? It's a slice of lemon drizzle cake and even better when I've baked it. Yummy x #TwinklyTuesday
