Clearing the Cobwebs with a Country Park Walk

After a week spent mostly at home and pottering around, last Friday saw D take the day off work and we decided to take the girls - and Buddy (of course!) - out for the day.

As we left the house and got in the car, droplets of rain started to fall but we were really lucky with the weather as that was all we saw. On the way, we popped in to Aldi to grab some picnic bits and by the time we reached Brandon, it was fairly grey but dry.

I was all set for the shorter walk but D was insistent that we would do the 3.5 so after we had some lunch, I loaded up my rucksack with snacks and drinks and we headed off.

T isn't a fan of walking for fun so we had to incorporate some bribery, the use of snacks and encourage her to explore as we went.... as well as lots of short rest stops!  Buddy on the other hand, thought all his Christmases had come at once and was running back and forth the whole time!

I was really pleased that I actually managed the walk, the furthest I've done in any one go is 2.5 miles. For someone thats overweight and struggling with various health... 'stuff' I thought I did well. I was a bit achey the next day though!

Cobwebs well and truly blown, it was a lovely day out and the girls and dog were all exhausted by the end of it. Win, win!

  1. That looks like a great day out - is the church used anymore? It looks like it's well kept but in the middle of nowhere?
