Gratitude Journal #40

T's School Report
I'm very grateful for T's school report this week.  She has her moments but she is doing amazingly well at school and I'm so very proud of how hard she is working and how kind she is to her class mates.  Long may it continue.

Starting the week right
Last week after dropping the girls off at school I was supposed to have a coffee date which was cancelled the night before so instead I headed off to do the food shop.  Once that was over and done with, I gave the fridge a deep clean and washed and chopped up all the fruit and veg ready for the week ahead.  I do like to do this but it depends very much on how much room I already have in the fridge as our current integrated fridge is tiny but there's no point in us buying a new one until we have our new kitchen. Having everything prepared means I can just throw a couple of handfuls in of whatever I need. It also means I have freshly prepped veg there should I want to snack!  I found it a huge help last week and plan to do the same this week.

Kitchen Progress
This weekend D started to do the insulation in the roof space above and has also managed to put up a couple of sheets of plasterboard. He doesn't get home from work til late but he's hoping he will be able to get a little done of an evening.  Slow progress is better than no progress.

Doctors Referral
Last week I was at the Drs yet again.  This time for a follow up on my operation as I've not heard anything from the Consultant, unfortunately neither has the Dr. With that in mind and with all the tests etc that I've had, she's now making me a referral to the chronic pain clinic which was first mentioned about a year ago.  I'm hopeful that they will be able to help me find the right medication for me, one that doesn't make me high as a kite or make me want to sleep for a week.

Breakfast out and Garden stuff
On Saturday morning we took the girls out for breakfast.  Before heading out to the garden centre to choose a couple of plants for a school project T is doing. They have to make a themed garden which is part of a town event where several schools join in and they choose their favourite in each category.  Whilst choosing T's plants, we also picked up some new snapdragons for the garden and some lovely ceramic pots which were for Marie Curie and reduced to just £5 each.  They've both made nice additions to the garden.

Inching out of the styling rut
After last week's post (thank you for all of the lovely comments, always appreciated), I faced the fear and wore a new dress and leggings to work.  I felt incredibly self conscious all day but had some compliments, which is always nice.  One of the lads at work asked why I was so dressed up which made me laugh as he must think I'm a right scruff the rest of the time!

  5. You get through so much when you have medical issues going on - inspirational and love how you count your blessings. Don't put yourself down. You probably don't think you do but I think you might. #TwinklyTuesday
