Gratitude Journal #47

Quieter Week
I found last week a bit of a struggle in that I was just so bloomin' exhausted so a quieter week was just what I needed. Especially after the busy weekend.

2 hours of alone time!
We went for lunch with my MiL and niece and when it was time for us to go, my MiL said that she was happy for the kids to stay and play for a while if I wanted to pick them up later.  Needless to say, I took complete advantage of it and came home and got on with some work.  I got lots done and even though I was working, I felt totally relaxed afterward.

School uniform shopping
Not my most favourite of jobs but I managed to get some school uniform ordered last week. I think the only thing I have left to order is the school cardigans, which have to come from the school direct and I'm leaving until they go back as I'm not entirely sure on sizing.  I do resent having to buy them from the school, I wish we were able to buy them from the supermarkets as I think the quality would be far better.

E's birthday party
This weekend it was E and my niece, K's, joint birthday party. We went for the soft play option as it's just so easy and they all had a blast until E smacked her face and ended up grazing it, after which she got quite grumpy. I think, in all honesty, she was hangry as once she had some dinner she cheered right up!

Playdate with L
Friday saw us pop to my friend Ls. We had coffee and cake with her Mum whilst the children all ran riot.  It was nice to get out of the house and for some different adult company.

Birthday shopping
I finally finished shopping for E's birthday presents. Hurrah!

  1. Lovely balanced week. Shame about the injury but isn't it amazing how food can make people feel so much better. I used to hate shopping for school uniforms but don't have that worry now my oldest has left school and I home educate the other two children #TwinklyTuesday

  2. Free alone time as a parent is amazing (and much needed!). Being able to wander the shops or read a book guilt free is like a little slice of heaven. Have a lovely week #TwinklyTuesday

  5. Living in an apt there's only so much I can do but I love seeing how people make use of colors.
