Gratitude Journal #53

All go on the kitchen front
We've had a busy few days painting the new kitchen.  We've gone for one colour on the walls and a darker shade on the column and beam to break it up.  Disappointingly, whilst we've got the ceiling and walls painted, we've been held up on the column and beam because B&Q haven't got the base paint needed to mix our colour.  I'm really hoping it won't take too long to get back in stock as we want the painting finished before our floor is laid next weekend.

This week also saw us finally order the actual kitchen.  I say finally as we've been working out the measurements and exactly what we want where for a while - who knew it was such a difficult decision?!

Pre-payment Certificate for Prescriptions
I finally got round to ordering myself a pre-payment certificate for my prescriptions.  I'd been meaning to for ages but a trip to the pharmacy that was going to cost me £36 soon gave me a kick in the right direction.  A three-month certificate is £29 and that's no matter how many times I use it.

T Spellings
Last week was the first one that T's been sent home with spellings to learn.  She was very excited to do so and was pleased when she got 5 out of 5 in her test. It was lovely seeing her so excited about it too!

Merits
Both girls got several merits at school last week for their work, which is always pleasing.

Outstanding holiday pay
I decided to take some of my outstanding holiday pay this month and was very glad I did as it means I've been able to pay for a number of outstanding things without worrying about it.

Productive Monday
Its been a good start to the week!  Meal plan and food shop done, soup made for my lunch over the next couple of days, kitchen and living tidied and cleaned and general pottering.  All of which was followed by L coming over for coffee and a good old natter.
