Gratitude Journal #65

Here's my latest gratitude journal for the festive season!

Kids spoilt!
As to be expected, the kids have been well and truly spoilt this Christmas!  They've had some lovely presents and have seemed to be pleased with them all. This year, to save on some of the arguments, we gave them both similar (or the same) presents. It seems to have helped!

Thoughtful Presents for Me
This year, I've had some really thoughtful gifts that I've been very grateful for.  The kids gave me a heated cushion and a massage pad to help with some of my aches and pains.  My Mum, amongst other things, gave me a bottle of blood orange gin that we had when we went out a couple of months ago (and it was just as delicious as I remembered it!).  My friend L gave me a book on crystals, as its something I've become interested in.  And my in-laws outdid themselves this year. Alongside the usual stocking fillers, they gave me an ornament that I had been eyeing up for ages.

Christmas at my in-laws
After opening presents at home, we headed over to my in-laws to spend the rest of the day at theirs. We decided to take Buddy with us, although I was a bit worried about taking him as he does have a tendency to get over-excited and pee for my MiL.  He was as good as gold. He spent the whole time trotting around their house, jumping for attention from one person to another, not to mention the Christmas dinner he had.  By the time we got home that evening, he was completely broken he was so tired!

It was a nice day and we had a lovely dinner thanks to my in-laws.

Sales Shopping
Every Boxing Day without fail, D and I have gone sales shopping and its something we've continued with the kids. This year was no exception and the kids were excited to spend their Christmas vouchers and pennies.  D and I gave them a voucher each for H&M and told them they were able to choose anything they wanted.  I admit, I was a little worried at what they might choose but they both did well and I was more than relieved with what they chose!

Clearing out old toys
We've used the last few days to have a bit of a tidy up in the girls rooms in readiness for the new beds they got for Christmas. That sounds a little extravagant but its joint birthday and Christmas presents and they were both desperate for desks in their rooms so they've got a cabin bed with a desk and seating underneath.  E had a general tidy up in her room but in T's room, we've packed away all of the old Peppa Pig toys (there was a lot!) and moved the Ikea kitchen out, ready to give to my friend R's little girl. It has made a huge difference to the space in her room and I wish we had done it sooner.
