Gratitude Journal #70

We have a Kitchen!
Bar a few small jobs - painting the windowsills and skirting board and touching up a few marks where the cupboards knocked against the walls - we are in! It still feels strange cooking and generally being in there but I'm loving it.  It feels like a real novelty having so much space to work in!

A tidy living room
Removing the table from the living room has meant that it instantly looks tidy!  We all had a habit of coming in and putting things on there, meaning it was always filled with 'stuff'.

No arguing over the yellow chair
We ordered some new chairs for the new kitchen table, mustard in colour. Since the table has been moved and we have the new chairs, we've had no arguing over the chairs and where the girls are sitting!  Its been SO lovely not to have the same arguments at every mealtime and I am very grateful it has stopped!

Journalling
Last week was a tough one for me in terms of my mental health. I had a flare-up of symptoms and I'm not sleeping all that well and I think that was the trigger.  Journalling is allowing me to get everything out of my head and on to paper and it still surprised me what I end up writing about.  It often shows me that something I think I'm dealing with OK is bothering me more than I realise and shows me the areas I need to look at and deal with.

Successful work meeting
It is all go at work at the moment in terms of new projects.  I had to sit in on a meeting which was eye-opening for me because it showed that I was on the same page as the person leading it and he was giving us ideas that my colleague and I had already jotted down. So it felt like confirmation that I knew what I was talking about, which is always nice to know.

Minimal strops and attitude from E
I barely dare to write it incase I jinx it but the last couple of weeks have seen a huge improvement in E's attitude and this weekend we only had two small strops from her.  I'm hopeful of it continuing!

  1. Enjoy your kitchen! Glad the chairs are being shared equally. I remember my kids fighting over the "best" seat! #TwinklyTuesday

  5. I want to see a pic of your new kitchen now. Glad it has gone so well and sounds to have led to other positives too. I must get into journalling or blogging it out like I used to - struggling emotionally today. Think peri-menopause and empty nest syndrome not helping on that score. Love the bit about your work - us women don't half under-estimate ourselves sometimes. Lovely balanced post #TwinklyTuesday

  6. Tracking does sound like something that could get kids interested in all sorts of healthy activities. Hope your week isn't too out of whack.
