Lockdown Journal : 10 March 2020

It took me bloomin' ages to get home from work today.  I ended up having to leave early because there was a lorry that had jackknifed across the main road. Instead of a 10-15 minute journey home, it took me almost 40 minutes. Fun times!

Luckily A had dropped me a Whatsapp to tell me about the accident. Ironically though, A was off work today ill with flu-like symptoms.  She told me that she called 111 and they think it is highly unlikely to be Coronavirus but to monitor for a couple of days.

There's a couple of cases in Mum's home town.  There's none confirmed yet in Norfolk. God, I hope it stays that way for as long as possible.

We're all washing our hands properly.  We've got the girls counting to 20.  Even D is doing it properly rather than a quick job of it!  Already our hands are starting to feel a little dry, I think I need to stock up on hand cream.

In the next couple of weeks, it's T's birthday and party.  We are supposed to be doing a joint party with my friend L as her little girl's birthday is 3 days after T's. D thinks we should be canceling it.  We've got over a week and a bit yet, I think we'll see what comes in the next couple of days.

I'm still feeling anxious although it hasn't been quite so bad.  It's still the first and last thing on my mind but I am trying to stay away from reading too much about it.  Italy is now in lockdown.
