Lockdown Journal : 21 April 2020

At the moment, the days seem very much up and down. It doesn't feel like there is any happy medium.  Yesterday turned out well and today as gone well too.

This morning, D went to the school to collect some work for the girls. He said there was no one around, it was all left on a table outside the doors to collect.  According to the newsletter, out of 500+ pupils, only 120 requested a paper pack. I was quite surprised, I would have thought it would be more - anything to make homework easier!

Yesterday and today I have spent some time making sore ear savers. I'm at 31 at the moment. I saw a post on Facebook about nurses needing them and making them from crochet, fabric or ribbon so I have made some with ribbon as that was what I had easily to hand.

Yesterday was Buddy's second birthday! T was most disappointed that we didn't get him a present but I reminded her he is utterly spoilt anyway.  I can't believe we have had him for two years. He's noisy and needy but I wouldn't be without him. I honestly don't think anyone will ever love me as much as he does. Or be as pleased to see me as he is.  As I'm sat writing this, he is curled up as close as he can get to me.  He feels soft and fluffy as we gave him a bath this morning.

The kids are back out in the garden. They're spending a huge amount of time out there. On their bikes, the trampoline.  Generally playing in the dirt and getting grubby. As they should be.  I just wish they would keep away from my flower beds.

I looked at the calendar today and realised we aren't all the far away from the end of the month.  Time is passing surprisingly quickly, although it doesn't necessarily feel that way.  It reminds me of the saying 'the days are long but the years are short'.
