Lockdown Journal : 3 May 2020

Popped into work for a few hours. It makes all the difference to my head and it means I can do those bits that I can't do at home. Not only that, but it's also nice to be able to speak to different people and nice to see my in-laws.

I went to do a food shop in Sainsburys afterward but they were queuing around the car park and I just couldn't face that so instead popped to the Food Warehouse. Luckily it was quiet and there was no queue. I couldn't get everything I wanted, particularly fresh fruit and veg, but it is enough to keep us going.

When I got home, D and the girls were outside planting vegetable seeds. E wasn't in a great mood, very shrieky and mouthy, I don't know what that was all about.  Possibly hangry?

My FitBit is now working properly. I haven't a clue what was wrong with it but I'm not complaining.  A busier day means my steps are higher than they have been in a long time.  I know they'll be much higher with the school run too.

Talking of the school run, there is talk that they may look at phasing schools back on 1st Jun.  We shall see - 4 days until they review lockdown.

The girls keep asking me when the virus will go away.  I keep telling them that we just don't know and we hope it will be soon. That people are working hard to make it go away.  They've had enough of being at home and missing their friends. Can't say I blame them.

Auntie M sent the girls a little present through the post to cheer them up and help keep them amused. They loved it and made a little recording to say thanks.
